Underwear has been through many evolutions. Today there is one piece of lingerie most of us enjoy. Whether we prefer to slip it on because it makes us feel sexy or for the simple benefit of forgoing panty lines under our jeans: the thong (or g-string), is our whole-y grail. Historically, this particular cut was worn by different cultures outside of North America by men and women. Here we are looking at the impact of a garment created from necessity and its journey to where we know it today. While people of all kinds can enjoy the benefits of presently owning a thong, we can’t say the same was almost 100 years ago.
